Aims and conduct of the school

The school aims to provide a happy, stimulating, safe, well-ordered and caring environment in which quality learning can take place and where each child is valued and encouraged to achieve his/her full potential as an individual and as a member of society. We endeavour to maintain a good standard of display, cleanliness and decoration and care for the grounds. Children are expected to play their part in keeping the environment clean and tidy and to respect the property of the school and other children.
Children are expected to exhibit good behaviour, to show proper respect for all pupils and staff and at all times be a credit to our school. The staff will promote these goals and parents are requested to support the code of conduct necessary to ensure the smooth working of the school. Children must acquire self-discipline and the staff will uphold high ideals across the curriculum, which enable pupils to understand right from wrong.
School uniform is available and it is hoped that parents will choose to dress their children in uniform. To have a neat appearance and appropriate care for personal hygiene are most desirable. Through the curriculum, children are expected to acquire positive attitudes towards their environment and the community. These will manifest themselves in a variety of ways - through work, a concern for environment and moral issues, health care, support for law and order and the police and participation in the life of the community.
The teaching staff cannot maintain the ethos of the school without full backing of all partners in the education process. The school governors have approved the school aims and objectives and the ideals expressed in these notes. Through individual contact and the many parent/teacher activities there are ample opportunities for the school to explain what it is trying to achieve and for parents to question, after which we hope to enjoy your co-operation, which is crucial for success. We have a home - school contract to further encourage co-operation between parents, teachers and the children. Any comments you would like to make would be very welcome.
