Preparing for school

Many parents are understandably eager to help their children as much as they can during the early years at school.
Three important things to do as your child gets ready are:
- Give your child confidence about going to School.
- Make sure your child can build relationships.
- Make sure your child has the initial basic skills that are needed to do well when starting at school. These are best introduced through play.
Should your child become upset when brought to school it is better to go home quickly, leaving the child with the teacher. A child soon settles once you have gone. You will be contacted if any distress is real and lasting.
The Headteacher will always be pleased to meet prospective parents, make arrangements to show them around the school and provide further information.
We believe that it is in the interests of the child that we develop a sound parent/child/teacher partnership. For this reason, as soon as a child enters our school we liaise closely with parents to form supportive links for the child and build firm foundations for their future development.
