School uniform

The School encourages the wearing of uniform and many parents find that to send their children in school uniform is just as cheap as any other forms of dress. To wear uniform gives a sense of pride and belonging to the school, so we hope that parents will continue to support this policy.

Birchfield has its own uniform shop that opens to parents on the first Monday of each month. Uniform can also obtained from several shops in town - though the uniform shop at school is the only one that has uniform with the school logo.

It is requested that you do not allow your child to attend school wearing, high-heeled shoes, trainers, jeans or jewellery.  It is most desirable to provide your child with some sort of protective clothing for art and craftwork.

Verbal messages via children will not be accepted as excuses for not participating in P.E. or Games.  Please send written permission for exclusion. To comply with Safety Advice, children wearing ear-studs or any other form of body piercing should remove them before the P.E. or swimming lesson.  Otherwise it is best to remove them before coming to school on that day.
