Governors
The role of the Governing Body.
The Governors maintain a general oversight of matters such as:
- Curriculum
- Finance
-Ensuring the school premises if safe
- Ensuring the general conduct of the school
- Hearing appeals and grievances
Full Governor Meetings take place twice per term, in addition we have a pay committee that meets once per year.
The role of a School Governor is, put simply, to set the strategic direction of the school with the Headteacher. In recent years Governors have worked closely with the Senior Leadership Team on the Ofsted agenda of raising standards, of attainment as well as recruitment of staff, financial management. A very wide and far reaching brief!
