Year Group Information:

PE

Our PE sessions continue this term and each class’ day has stayed the same: RCW Friday, RFG Friday. If your child wears earrings, please remember to remove these before they come to school on their PE day. We also request that hair is tied back. Please make sure your child come to school in the correct PE kit on PE day.

HOMELEARNING

Thank you to all the parents who support their children with the home learning expectations weekly, it really does make a difference and if we work together we can get the best outcomes for your child.  Just a reminder home learning task comes out on a Friday and we require them back by the following Wednesday.  Birchfield’s expectation for reading with your child is a minimum of 3 times a week.  Please make sure you record your comments in your child’s reading diary.

UNIFORM AND BOOK BAGS

A big thank you to those who have named all items of their child’s uniform. This helps tremendously in returning any lost items quickly. Unnamed items unfortunately may not always get back to their original owner!

Please ensure that children are wearing correct uniform each day, this includes footwear and appropriate coat – we go outside and they could get cold and wet!

A quick reminder that any earrings worn must be studs or small hoops, no other jewellery is permitted, and book bags are required to be in school every day.

HELPING HANDS

We have noticed there are a number of children who cannot put on and fasten their coats independently – please could this skill be practised at home, as they will be able to get outside much more quickly if they can do this. Please note that Birchfield is a No Mobile Phone School, therefore phones are not to be used whilst on the school site; please put them in pockets or bags.
